Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan has sent a congratulatory message to Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia on the occasion of the country’s national day. The message reads as follows:

“I cordially congratulate you and the friendly people of Georgia on the country’s national holiday, that is, Independence Restoration Day.

On May 26, 1918, with the declaration of the Democratic Republic of Georgia, the people of Georgia expressed their resoluteness to restore statehood and build a democratic society. Even today, Georgia stays true to these values and continues to build a modern and democratic state.

Throughout the centuries, the relations between the Armenian and Georgian nations have stood out with deep respect and friendship, and I assure you that the Armenian people follow all the successes and achievements of the friendly Georgia with great joy and that the Republic of Armenia is a loyal and reliable friend and neighboring state for Georgia.

Dear Mr. Prime Minister,

I highly appreciate the effective cooperation that our governments have established during these difficult conditions due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, especially the uninterrupted transportation of cargo between the two countries and the ensuring of return of citizens of Armenia and Georgia to their respective homelands. I am certain that only through combined efforts will we be able to overcome this severe ordeal of all mankind.

Taking the opportunity, I wish you all the best and success, and I wish the people of fraternal Georgia health and endurance in this difficult period of time.”
