Iran has already recorded a total of 140 thousand COVID-19 cases, said health ministry's spokesperson Kianoush Jahanpour.

According to him, 111,176 people out of 141,591 infected have survived, while 7,564 people have lost their lives.

Jahanpour added that 2,080 COVID-19 new cases have been confirmed since yesterday, with 56 deaths recorded in the past day, IRNA reported.

The Iranian official also noted that 2,551 people are in critical condition.
