Africa has confirmed more than 123 thousand COVID-19 cases.

Over 50 thousand people have already recovered, the regional representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) reported.

According to the WHO, the death toll there has reached 3,668, while the total number of cases has reached 123,724 cases, RIA Novosti reported.

The largest number of infected were recorded in South Africa (25,937) and Egypt (18,756). Most patients with COVID-19 died in Egypt (797), Algeria (623), and South Africa (552).

According to the latest WHO data, almost 5.5 million COVID-19 cases have been recorded globally, while the death toll has exceeded 349 thousand.
