I would like to call on citizens to stop speculating the prices of face masks and stop spreading misinformation about the coronavirus because the situation is very grave and is becoming graver. This is what Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated during a briefing following the session held by the Commandant’s Office for the state of emergency declared in the country.

“I would also like to say that I consider the speculations about the prices of face masks inappropriate. The government isn’t forcing anyone to buy a face mask. People can prepare face masks at home. Specialists’ analyses show that wearing face masks the right way can stop the spread of the coronavirus,” the Prime Minister said.

Pashinyan stated that it’s very important to wear face masks the right way, that is, change and wash them from time to time.

“I would also like to emphasize that when I say the virus is everywhere, this means that several bearers of the virus don’t even know that they are bearers of the virus. None of us knows if he or she is a bearer. As far as the effectiveness of the face masks is concerned, nobody knows everything about the coronavirus. Experience has shown that wearing face masks is effective when face masks are worn by everyone,” Pashinyan emphasized.
