Major General Kamo Aghajanyan has been appointed director of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) National Security Service, being relieved of the post of Deputy Chief of Police. Newly inaugurated President Arayik Haroutyunyan on Friday informed about this live on his Facebook page.

"He [Aghajanyan] is one of our legendary commanders, three knight of the Battle Cross, one of whom he received from Armenia. He held the position of platoon, battalion, division, corps commander, and deputy commander of the Defense Army.

Here I attach importance to the cooperation with Armenia. We will need a new qualitative change, and we have reached agreement with Armenia’s authorities that the service will provide a quite major and bilateral quality of cooperation, as the purpose of this service is also part in terms of carrying out the important functions of our common homeland," Haroutyunyan stressed.
