Surb Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center (MC) has about 500 beds, 80 of which are in the intensive care unit, said the MC director Arman Hovakimyan on Friday.

According to him, 95% of the intensive care unit beds are occupied and the beds of general departments are occupied by about 80%.

To date, the hospital has received about COVID-19 1,470 patients, 450 of whom are in serious and extremely serious conditions. Patients in serious condition need resuscitation services, and this is the most difficult problem today, he added.

According to the director, in recent days, the number of severe and extremely severe cases has risen sharply. The collapse of the healthcare system must be avoided so that healthcare providers can provide full assistance, Hovakimyan added.
