Let the Commandant give us our money, and we will go home. One of the farmers said this during Tuesday’s protest in “Meymandar” market of Armenia’s Armavir Province, and against the Commandant’s decision to close the market for 24 hours.

"I will bring my product tomorrow to see who closes the market. We will fight against you with shovels,” he added.

The chief of Armavir provincial police, Aram Hovhannisyan responded. "I'm going to close [the market]."

The situation escalated, a slight shoving match broke out, Hovhannisyan pulled back the police, and asked the farmers to stand back one meter.

The chief of the provincial police also noted. "I say once again that the Commandant has granted, the market is not closing today, go to you work (…). The market will be closed for 24 hours tomorrow morning."

But the farmers were against closing the market for conducting disinfection tomorrow, too.
