YEREVAN. – We need to understand that this is not a healthcare issue because health care does what it can, and even more; this is an issue of law and order. Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan mentioned this Wednesday during a live broadcast on his Facebook page, and regarding the growing number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in the country.

"Should I now bring out the special forces and beat the people in order to maintain law and order? How can I do such a thing? I'm not used to it; I have come from another culture of communication. (…). This is the way to deal with criminal circles. How can I treat my own people like that?” he said, in particular.

Pashinyan noted that the issue of people gathering near banks and post offices is a serious problem. "Now the banking system, HayPost, has to solve its problems; [but] this does not mean that administrative levers will not be used. (…): We say, obey the rules so that we don't die, our relatives and parents don't die," he added, in particular.
