I agree that each and every person needs to have responsibility so that the country avoids the spread of the coronavirus. This is what head of the Bright Armenia faction of the National Assembly Edmon Marukyan told reporters today.
“I don’t know anyone in Armenia who wants to contract the virus. People are skeptical, but it doesn’t mean they want to contract the virus. Perhaps they are skeptical because the health minister and the Prime Minister have been making mutually exclusive statements since March. Our political party would tell the government to postpone the constitutional referendum and the elections in Artsakh, but the government said the opposition was in panic,” he said.
As far as declaring another lockdown is concerned, Marukyan said if the government declares another lockdown, it has to give people money to make a living. “After the government rejected our proposal, it opened the economy so that it wouldn’t have to give people money, and that caused the current situation,” he said, adding that the statements by the Prime Minister and health minister are serious, unlike the statements made in the past.
