YEREVAN. – In 2019, Armenia's economy continued to grow faster than in 2018, and a 7.6% economic growth was recorded. Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan stated this during Friday’s debates on the 2019 state budget performance report, at the joint sitting of the standing committees of the National Assembly.

At the same time, according to him, the world economy grew by 2.9% in the same period, while the average economic growth in the EU and the EEU was 1.4% and 1.6%, respectively. "At the same time, the 12-month inflation in 2019 was 0.7% [in Armenia], and the average inflation—1.4 percent," Grigoryan added, noting that the state budget's capital expenditures of the country had exceeded the deficit of this state budget.

Also, the deputy PM stressed that on September 26 last year, Armenia successfully placed foreign currency bonds—in the amount of $500 million and with a 4.2% yield—in the international capital market.
