Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan today held phone talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia David Zalkaliani, as reported the news department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.
The Armenian and Georgian foreign ministers exchanged views on the steps that the governments are taking to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus and address the social and economic consequences of the pandemic.
The Georgian foreign minister expressed his solidarity with Armenia in the fight against the pandemic and reaffirmed the Georgian government’s willingness to provide assistance.
Minister Mnatsakanyan highly appreciated the close cooperation of various government agencies of both countries for organizing the return of the citizens of Armenia and Georgia to their respective countries and reaffirmed his invitation to Georgian foreign minister Zalkaliani to visit Armenia.
In the context of multilateral cooperation, the parties also touched upon the events to be held within the scope of the Eastern Partnership and exchanged views on security issues, underlining the need to maintain global and regional peace and security.
