The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Artak Davtyan, has issued a statement on the media reports in connection with his son's wedding ceremony. Thee statement reads as follows:

"Everyone is equal before the law, and if I have committed any wrongdoing, I will bear the responsibility stemming from it. Of course, in my opinion, there was no violation; but let the relevant bodies determine that.

I just want to remind that everyone has the right to personal life. I urge some people, the media, not to enter my and my family's private space, and not to try to involve me in political games."

To note, Hraparak daily published a video announcing that Davtyan's son's wedding party took place in his mansion, and which was attended by several dozen people. And on Monday morning, Factor.am reported that on the instructions of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan—who is also Commandant of the current state of emergency in Armenia due to the COVID-19 situation in the country—accompanied by police, went to Artak Davtyan's mansion to stop this event.

To note, due to the aforesaid state of emergency, crowded gatherings are not allowed in Armenia.
