YEREVAN. – Today we are not raising an issue of increasing electricity tariffs, at least until February 1. Garegin Baghramyan, Chairman Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC), on Monday stated this in a talk with journalists in the National Assembly of Armenia.

"Because the money that will be generated in the energy system in the case of this [natural] gas price increase is manageable; this issue can be resolved on the account of the internal resources of the system," he added.

To note, Gazprom Armenia company has submitted to the PSRC a petition to increase natural gas prices in Armenia by 11 percent. In response, the PSRC has made proposals, according to which the natural gas tariff shall increase by 4.5 percent, but not for the residential subscribers as well as the socially vulnerable groups, and will rise, especially for greenhouses and recycling companies.
