A violent incident took place late in the evening on June 7 at Kong Café and Cocktail Room in central Yerevan. Armenian has scenes at its disposal, and they show how red beret police officers brutally settled a score with two couples who were there at that moment.

According to the information provided to Armenian, among those who were beaten are Samvel Aleksanyan’s nephew Artak Aleksanyan and his wife, as well as authority of Noragyugh village Roman Muardyan and his wife, whom police officers sat down in the police car by using violence.

Samvel Aleksanyan’s nephew received a serious bodily injury near the ear and is currently undergoing surgery.

According to our information, the incident took place when the police approached the couples and rudely demanded that they leave the café, after which the police and the couples got into a dispute.

In regard to the incident, the news service of the Police reported the following: “On the night of June 7, police officers conducted inspections at clubs in Yerevan which are temporarily prohibited from operating due to the state of emergency. During the inspection, the customers of one of the clubs on a street in Yerevan disrespected the public, bothered the police officers, used swear words, failed to obey the police officers’ lawful demands and used force against them. They were taken to the central police station, and a report is being prepared in relation to the incident.”
