YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: Zhoghovurd daily has learned new details about the ongoing processes surrounding RA former Minister of Finance [and ex-chairman of the State Revenue Committee] Gagik Khachatryan, who is under arrest.

The criminal case under investigation by the National Security Service clarifies that Gagik Khachatryan has caused 7.5 billion drams in damage to the state. And it is noteworthy that these days the representatives of the law enforcement system are telling the former Minister of Finance that he has to bring and return all that money to the state; in fact, offering a deal and saying return the money, be freed of the criminal prosecution.

However, Zhoghovurd daily learned that in response to the deal, Gagik Khachatryan stated that he could not return 7.5 billion drams, but only 3.5 billion drams, but the law enforcement system did not agree and said that he should return everything.

However, Khachatryan refused, saying that in that case, he would not return anything, and stated that let them prove his guilt, substantiate that he has caused 7.5 billion drams in damage to the state.
