YEREVAN. – I am convinced that you will be able to unite the professional, honest potential of the NSS [National Security Service] around you, and bring the NSS to new successes, new glory, and a new image that will be acceptable to the citizens of the Republic of Armenia and more in line with the new changes. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this Tuesday while introducing the new director of the NSS, Argishti Kyaramyan, to the NSS staff.

"The NSS is a strong, well-established, dynamic structure, but we must record that the challenges and the pace, speed and quality to response to them need to be constantly improved, reformed, bettered, and I have set this very task before Mr. Kyaramyan that the NSS be more effective in addressing the security challenges we face.

In these two years that we have been working, it is enough time that all NSS employees position themselves toward the velvet revolution and its values. The time has come to sum up who used how given the opportunity. In this regard, very specific answers must be heard," Pashinyan said.

"Very clear principles of official work promotion must work irreversibly. (...). We must ensure that the departmental solidarity does not become an occasion for abuse [of power]," the PM also stressed.
