YEREVAN. – It is not right for me to assess this particular fact; moreover, the matter is apparently not raised in connection with the actions of any state body. Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) Arman Tatoyan mentioned this in a talk with journalists in the National Assembly Tuesday, referring to the fact that a website on Monday published the reports on a gang rape case, from which it becomes clear that business tycoon Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the opposition Prosperous Armenia Party and of its parliamentary faction, was one of the perpetrators of that crime.
"In general, I can say that the dignity, personal life, and such values of any person are important, in general. Politics has its principles; outside of politics—its principles. But it is not right for me to give an assessment on that particular case," he added.
