Emmanuel Cantave, Haiti's Secretary of State for Social Affairs has died of COVID-19, Izvestia said referring to the country's authorities.

The information was tweeted by Eddy Jackson Alexis, the Secretary of State for Communication.

He expressed condolences to the official’s family on behalf of the government.

Emmanuel Cantave became one of the 56 inhabitants of the country who died from the COVID-19, according to statistics published by Alexis.
