YEREVAN. – We have not given up on our political goal, and by taking advantage of the legal opportunities given in Armenia, we will make it happen. Suren Papikyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, on Wednesday stated this in a talk with journalists in the National Assembly of Armenia, referring to the cancellation of the referendum on constitutional amendments and to the question whether they have given up on their political goal.

"One of the ways is to discuss and resolve the issue in the National Assembly, the other is the constitutional referendum. But at this stage, due to coronavirus, it is not possible to carry it [the referendum] out for a long time. Of course, we will find the solution," the minister also said.

And asked whether they have a deadline by which Hrayr Tovmasyan should no longer be the president of the Constitutional Court, Papikyan gave a negative answer, and added: "Our actions are not an end in itself, they stem from the interests of the Republic of Armenia, the citizen of the Republic of Armenia. We are transparent in our actions, and we cannot consider the political goal more than the interest of our citizens, and that is why the constitutional referendum was canceled at this stage.”
