The three young men who died at around midnight in an unused mine belonging to Meghradzor Gold LLC of Armenia were relatives.
A fellow Meghradzor villager of told Armenian News-NEWS.am that they were cousins. Two of them—Bagrat Khachatryan, 34, and Hayk Safaryan, 29—were married, they have one small child each, and both of their views are expecting their second child.
According to the fellow villager, the other victim—Aram Gogolyan, 27—on the other hand, was to get engaged soon.
To note, these young men were employees of the mine, they, according to preliminary information, had tried to enter the aforesaid mine with self-made means, and to extract ore from there at an amateur level, during which they had suffered gas poisoning.
Earlier it was reported that the rescuers had to walk 2 kilometers to this mine in order to retrieve the bodies of the dead. After that, five other Meghradzor residents had applied to the Hrazdan town hospital with symptoms of gas poisoning.
