Agricultural productivity in Armenia is low. This is what Minister of Economy of Armenia Tigran Khachatryan declared during a discussion on the report on performance of the 2019 State Budget held as part of the joint session of parliamentary standing committees today, adding that the government continues to lead a stimulative policy to increase productivity.

“In 2019, agriculture was the only sector in which economic activity was low. The government has recorded almost 4% decline since 2018. The purpose of all government programs, as well as actions funded from the state budget is to help economies use funds to increase productivity and agricultural productivity,” the minister said.

The minister also noted that AMD 21,700,000,000 in funding from the state budget was envisaged in 2019, and AMD 12,800,000,000 made up a part of the programs in the agriculture sector.
