Speaker of the National Assembly of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Artur Tovmasyan today convened a working consultation with the heads of standing committees and parliamentary factions to establish the Artsakh-Cyprus Friendship Circle. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Armine Aleksanyan was also invited to the consultation.

At the outset, the parliamentary speaker stated that Cyprus had announced the establishment of a Friendship Circle with Artsakh on March 6, and among the members of the Friendship Circle are Members of Parliament of Cyprus and city council members, as well as well-known politicians and scholars.

“To make the cooperation with the Friendship Circle practical, I believe it is necessary to establish a Friendship Circle with Cyprus in Artsakh under the auspices of the Parliament of Artsakh,” Artur Tovmasyan said.

The parliamentary speaker announced the names of members of the Artsakh-Cyprus Friendship Circle and voiced hope that the Circle will expand and will contribute to Artsakh’s international recognition and the strengthening of practical relations between Artsakh and Cyprus through its activities.
