After seeing what kind of a situation the country is in and where it is heading, I decided to get involved in politics and put an end to the incumbent authorities’ incompetent governance that has led the country to a precipice. This is what leader of Homeland Party Artur Vanetsyan said in response to deputy of the My Step faction Artur Manukyan who said Vanetsyan should talk and state which country’s interests he serves. In addition, Vanetsyan said he exclusively serves the interests of Armenia and the people of Armenia.

“I don’t even know who Artur Manukyan is. He is making false claims. This is how the current authorities treat political opponents. Believe me when I say that if they had at least some evidence of this or that act, the evidence would either be presented in the presses, or a criminal case would have been instituted,” Vanetsyan said.

Vanetsyan said the sole purpose of spreading fake news about him after his resignation from the position of director of the National Security Service is an attempt to discredit him. “No charge against me has been affirmed. I have applied to court, and I am certain that the court will examine the case and give an objective evaluation. The Prime Minister and his spokesperson claim that I purchased shares from Mikayel Minasyan. I offered Pashinyan to file a report to the Prosecutor General, and if it is right, I will be held liable, if not, Nikol Pashinyan must be sentenced to prison for a false report,” Vanetsyan said.

According to Vanetsyan, the only thing that motivated him to get involved in politics was his responsibility for the country and people.
