YEREVAN. – In 2019, Armenia received 8.6 billion drams in grants from the EU instead of the projected 21 billion drams. Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan stated this during Thursday’s debates on the 2019 state budget performance report, at the joint sitting of the standing committees of the National Assembly.

According to him, the amount of usage of these grants was a mere 31 percent. As per the minister, this is due to the fact that some programs have been implemented, whereas some others have not been carried out or have been postponed.

Janjughazyan added that loans of 20 billion drams were envisaged from the EU, but only 57% of the total expected funds were received.
