Iran's MP Mohammad Mehdi Zahedi has proposed renaming one of Tehran's streets in honor of the African American George Floyd, TASS reported referring to ISNA.

On June 4, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that Floyd’s story has become global.

According to the spiritual leader of the country, Ali Khamenei, the oppression by the US authorities of their own population is similar to the US approach to other states.

Mass protests and riots have been held in many US states after the death of African-American George Floyd.

Three police officers handcuffed Floyd, threw him to the ground and apprehended him, and one of them pressed his knee on the man's neck. All four police officers involved in the detention have been fired and charged.
