The citizens of Armenia are the first people from whom the government is preparing to ask for assistance. This is what Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated during a briefing held after the session of the Commandant’s Office today, in response to a question whether the Government of Armenia is preparing to ask the international community for assistance, including for doctors and medicine in order to combat the coronavirus.

“Our message is the following: help us help you, and let’s help each other to solve this problem. Our analysis shows that if the figures remain in this scale, our healthcare system is already ready to take on the burden. However, there are also friendly countries that want to provide support to Armenia and are expressing willingness to support Armenia, and it’s very important for Armenia to accept those friendly gestures.

The Armenian government believes that, yes, at difficult moments, friendly countries are those countries that will make friendly gestures, and Armenia will accept those countries’ support. Armenia thanks all the countries that are helping us, and of course, Armenia is ready to help all of its friendly countries at difficult moments.”
