Germany is 'well placed' to avoid the second wave of COVID-19, Reuters reported referring to Finance Minister Olaf Scholz.
“We are living with the virus, which I describe as a new normal. And it will only change when we have new medical therapies and when we have a vaccine,” Scholz said. “As long as this is not the case, we have to organize our lives so as to avoid a second wave.”
He added that the chances were “very, very large” that Germany could avoid a second wave.
According to the Robert Koch Institute, Germany recorded 258 COVID-19 new cases per day, bringing the total number to 185,674 people. The death toll there has reached 8,763, while nearly 171,600 people have already recovered.
