The Professional Commission on Constitutional Reforms is considering the idea of having a uniform judiciary, taking into consideration the general judiciary and the constitutional judiciary. This is what Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated during a session held by the Professional Commission on Constitutional Reforms today.

“The functions of the Constitutional Court, the general judiciary and the Court of Cassation should be combined in one system. Frankly, I believe this is an issue that needs to be seriously considered because we have seen different perceptions of the constitutional judiciary, the Constitutional Court and the Court of Cassation several times throughout the history of the Third Republic of Armenia, and I don’t think this has a positive impact on the development of Armenia’s judicial system,” Pashinyan said.
