YEREVAN. – As a member of Gagik Tsarukyan's legal team, I would like to inform that today I have submitted a report to the RA Prosecutor General to find out the circumstances of certain NSS officials’ committing of crimes envisaged by the Criminal Code and to give a legal assessment in connection with the search in Gagik Tsarukyan's residences and with the events related to his name. Smbat Minasyan, an attorney of parliamentary opposition Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) leader, MP, and business tycoon Gagik Tsarukyan, noted this in a Facebook post.

"In my as well as in the other members of the defense team’s conviction, by conducting a search at the place of Gagik Tsarukyan’s residence, (…) being questioned about the suspicion raised, and the RA NSS publications about Gagik Tsarukyan being a participant in apparent crimes, Gagik Tsarukyan is being prosecuted because, according to the positions expressed in the precedent decisions by the European and the cassation courts, it is identified with the term ‘accusation.’

In my opinion, it is impermissible and illegal, as the obstruction of Gagik Tsarukyan's parliamentary immunity has not been overcome," he added, in particular.
