YEREVAN. – The former authorities, who today spend a lot of money on various media outlets to discredit Armenia’s incumbent authorities, are creating a lie and starting to believe it. Alen Simonyan, National Assembly (NA) Vice President and member of the majority My Step faction in parliament,  mentioned this in a talk with journalists in the NA Wednesday.

"They [the former authorities] are fabricating a reality and trying to convince the public that such a thing exists. The [serving] Armenian halls of power have a high rating, despite the money spent by the previous authorities. (...). In this difficult situation, they [the incumbent authorities] are able to withstand the global crisis, thanks to only two years of work. We will get out of this situation with very positive results, although they [the previous authorities] are trying to prove the opposite by various means.

If the citizens of the Republic of Armenia believe that any [other] party can be better, they will vote for that force during the next elections, and we will accept those results. But I have to disappoint that I do not predict such a thing in the near future," Simonyan added.
