A top police officer apologized for yesterday’s incident, without my evaluation. This is what Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Alen Simonyan told reporters today, touching upon the fact that journalists were also injured as a result of the pushing and shoving with police officers near the National Security Service building yesterday.

“There is a video showing how a police officer came close and apologized since police might have made omissions while performing their actions amid the commotion. This is unprecedented, and I highly appreciate it,” Alen Simonyan said.

He admitted that police actions were unlawful and that the police officer wouldn’t have apologized, if they were lawful.
