Lawyer Tigran Atanesyan posted the following on his Facebook page:

“As a lawyer and citizen, I say that leader of Prosperous Armenia Party Gagik Tsarukyan can’t be arrested in any case. By Article 154.2 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, under which the charge has been brought, preliminary investigation shall be conducted exclusively by the Special Investigation Service, and in this case, the decision on bringing a charge was rendered and the petition to arrest was submitted to court by an investigator of the National Security Service. In other words, the records of all investigative operations, all the alleged proofs and procedural decisions are unlawful and can’t be used against Gagik Tsarukyan.”
