Those who make the wrong decision will be held liable since everyone is equal before the law. This is what leader of Prosperous Armenia Party Gagik Tsarukyan told reporters after exiting the court today.

A journalist reminded Tsarukyan that he recently stated that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had made him offers that he didn’t accept and when asked what offers had Pashinyan made, Tsarukyan said the following: “I can prove what I said, regardless of political repressions. Justice will be served.”

Tsarukyan also touched upon his case and said it’s phony. “My attorneys will provide you with details. There are 120 investigators who have been involved in this case over the past two days. There was nobody who could say I had anything to do with electoral bribes.”

The political party leader said the authorities haven’t fulfilled their promises and have led the country to the edge of a precipice. “You can all see that there are social, economic and political issues. The people are going to starve. Nothing good awaits us,” he said.

Gagik Tsarukyan is charged with giving electoral bribes, but he doesn’t accept the charge brought against him and says the case is phony.

On June 16, the National Assembly of Armenia approved the two petitions of Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan to strip Gagik Tsarukyan of parliamentary immunity and deprive him of his liberty.
