YEREVAN. – At the moment, the destruction of the country of law under the name of democracy is taking place in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia. Human rights activist Avetik Ishkhanyan noted this in a Facebook post.

"Thus, in the so-called new Armenia, the Prime Minister—taking advantage of the epidemiological situation, instructing and threatening his 88 toy MPs, not caring about international obligations—is carrying out an unconstitutional coup.

Thus, if this unconstitutional, illegal bill becomes law, the so-called new Armenia will actually be thrown back to the deep Middle Ages, with its provincial monarch.

The two [parliamentary] opposition factions have been given the opportunity to save the situation. If these factions do not jointly petition to the CC [Constitutional Court], they will bear equal responsibility as the [majority] My Step [faction] before future generations, and no excuse or explanation can be acceptable, just as the member MPs of these factions will no longer have the moral right to speak of any values,” Ishkhanyan added, in particular.
