Judge Arsen Nikoghosyan of the Criminal Court of Appeal of Armenia has been provided with a bodyguard after rendering the decision on releasing second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan on bail, as reported the Information and Public Relations Department of the Police of Armenia.

“The Police are ensuring Arsen Nikoghosyan’s safety based on the letter sent by the Supreme Judicial Council and as prescribed by law,” the Police’s press release reads.

There was an unprecedented attack on Judge Arsen Nikoghosyan after he released second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan on bail for AMD 2,000,000,000, as a result of which the Supreme Judicial Council addressed the Police to ensure his immunity.
