President of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Arayik Haroutyunyan will donate part of his salaries for charity purposes. In this regard, Haroutyunyan posted the following on his Facebook page:

“When I served as Prime Minister and State Minister of Artsakh for more than a decade, I would regularly donate my salaries to the implementation of various charity projects. Since my family has other sources of income, and I have stated that several times, I have never received a salary and haven’t used state funds during business trips to different countries.

Today, I decided to transmit AMD 150,000 from my monthly salaries to the Ivan Atayan Educational Foundation for granting scholarships to outstanding students of the natural sciences and gear the remaining part of the funds towards the Fund of the Union of Freedom Fighters of Artsakh (I am a board member of the Fund and have full trust in the transparency of the Fund’s activities) until the end of this year. The funds will be used to solve various social issues facing servicemen with first degree disability.”
