Talking about the bill on property tax during a special parliamentary session today, deputy of the Bright Armenia faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Armen Yeghiazaryan asked what was going to happen to people who live in accident-prone buildings and who have been exempt from paying the property tax since they live in accident-prone buildings.

Yeghiazaryan noted that, in essence, Armenia’s former authorities haven’t done anything to fortify accident-prone buildings for many years. “Currently, the authorities are taxing citizens living in those buildings. Is that the right thing to do? I don’t think so. The authorities have to reconsider the decision,” he said.
