International organizations have evaluated the potential of Armenia’s economic growth at 4-4.5%, but the Armenian government has decided to set the threshold at 4.9%. This is what Minister of Finance of Armenia Atom Janjughazyan said during a discussion on the report on performance of the 2019 state budget held as part of the special session of the National Assembly today.

As the minister stated, the results of the year showed that there was more growth and that it comprised 7.6%.

For comparison, Janjughazyan also declared that economic growth in the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union made up 1.4% and 1.6%, respectively.

“In 2019, tax revenues exceeded the tax revenues of 2018 by AMD 200,000,000,000,” the minister said.
