YEREVAN. – Just a month ago, the world's most prestigious international organization which monitors the state of freedoms in the world recorded that Armenia has recorded the highest two-year progress in democracy, human rights, and freedom of speech in the entire history of its reports. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during Thursday’s presentation—in the National Assembly—of the execution of the 2019 state budget of Armenia.

"In general, this is a record of all organizations around the world. Today, some speak of restrictions on freedom of speech [in Armenia]. Show me a situation in the third republic [of Armenia] when so many political 'corpses'—sorry for my expression—spread 'stench' all over the country, from morning to evening, from at least 3-4, if not 4-5, if not 6-7 TV channels [in the country]," he said:

"Let's look at the level of freedom of speech in the Republic of Armenia and how it is used," the PM stressed in particular.
