The Criminal Court of Appeal of Armenia has left the appealed decision of the Yerevan court of general jurisdiction on selecting arrest as a pre-trial measure for former president of the Football Federation of Armenia Ruben Hayrapetyan unchanged, as reported the press service of the Investigative Committee.
Under the criminal case in relation to the cases of prima facie self-righteousness against the head of the executive body of Harsnakar Restaurant-Hotel Complex, illegally depriving the head of liberty and causing strong physical pain and mental suffering (being investigated by the General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the Investigative Committee of Armenia), Hayrapetyan was also involved as an accused-on-trial, a motion for selecting arrest as a pre-trial measure against him had been filed with the Yerevan court of general jurisdiction, which had upheld the motion.
Notice: A person suspected or accused of an alleged crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty, in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code of Armenia and by a court judgement that has entered into force.
