During today’s special session, the National Assembly of Armenia approved the amendments to the Tax Code with 70 votes “in favor”, 11 votes “against” (deputies of the Bright Armenia faction), and 2 deputies abstained from voting.

The government proposes to raise property taxes. To prevent increase of the tax burden, the authorities plan to make the transition to a new tax system in the course of six years. Nevertheless, property taxes will be raised by 5 times on average.
