Deputy of the Bright Armenia faction of the National Assembly Mane Tandilyan has touched upon the statement of Prosperous Armenia Party on applying to the Constitutional Court and has posted the following on her Facebook page:

“Dear journalists,

You ask us several times if 26 deputies can apply to the Constitutional Court with their signatures.

I must state that, in accordance with point 2 of part 1 of Article 169 of the Constitution, at least one fifth of deputies may apply to the Constitutional Court, that is, 20% (26 deputies makes up 19.7%, which is unequivocally smaller than 20% (1/5)).

Consequently, the Constitutional Court has no right to accept the application for proceedings, just like it never has in the past.”
