MPs Naira Zohrabyan and Shake Isayan from the opposition Prosperous Armenia Party were at the Constitutional Court in the morning.

Speaking to reporters, Zohrabyan said that they had e-mailed a petition signed by 26 lawmakers to the Constitutional Court last night to challenge the constitutionality of a law passed by the National Assembly. "Today we handed the hard copy to the chief of staff of the Constitutional Court. Edgar Ghazaryan said that there are working procedures, the issue will be examined, and a decision will be made whether or not it will be accepted [for consideration]. There is a 15-day period for that,” she said.

To the remark that at least 27 MPs’ signatures are needed to submit such a petition, Zohrabyan noted that the legal community is divided into two parts on this matter. "The Constitutional Court will decide whether or not to accept for proceedings," she added.
