Spokesperson of the Prime Minister of Armenia Mane Gevorgyan has posted the following on her Facebook page:

“In response to reporters’ requests to interpret the statement that President of the Republican Party of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan made on June 26, 2020, I deem it necessary to emphasize the following:

Yes, Ilham Aliyev has a long tongue because, unlike the situation two years ago, now he sees that there is a Fifth Column acting behind the back of the authorities and people of Armenia, and the family of Serzh Sargsyan forms an integral part of that Fifth Column. And what’s interesting is that the evaluations of Ilham Aliyev and Serzh Sargsyan of the events in Armenia are almost identical.

For both Ilham Aliyev and Serzh Sargsyan, the well-known corrupt officials in Armenia under well-known criminal cases are politically persecuted officials, the recent amendments to the Constitution of Armenia are unlawful, there is dictatorship in Armenia, there is massive corruption in Armenia, the family members of the Prime Minister of Armenia aren’t doing anything and earning money illegally and Armenia’s transactions to obtain weapons are questionable.

Interestingly, Ilham Aliyev and Serzh Sargsyan’s son-in-law Mikayel Minasyan use the same false statements. The only question is if Ilham Aliyev writes texts for Serzh Sargsyan’s family members or Serzh Sargsyan’s family members write texts for Ilham Aliyev. In any case, it is clear that Aliyev and the Sargsyans share interests in this whole story.

As a matter of fact, whereas Ilham Aliyev has a long tongue now, in 2016, he had long arms. At the time, Serzh Sargsyan had a crooked neck and was talking about weapons dating back to the 1980s. Today, Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan Zakir Hasanov has a crooked neck and is talking about the situation on the border that is depriving the armed forces of Azerbaijan of the opportunity to take action.

Serzh Sargsyan also touched upon the national – anti-national discourse and referred to the glorious Armenian Army. It is clear that the officers of the glorious Armenian Army see what weapons they were using to defend the homeland in 2017 and what weapons they are using now, how much money they would be paid in 2017 and how much they are paid now, what clothes and shoes they would wear in 2017 and what they wear now, what they would eat in 2017 and what they eat now, and this is enough to understand what it means to have national authorities and what it means to have anti-national authorities. The leader who robbed his own people, namely Serzh Sargsyan, does not have the right to talk about national values. It would be better if he explained how he and his family have hundreds of millions of dollars and belongings and why the history of governments of Armenia led by him and his group referred to as history of robberies, corruption and disgraceful.

As for the attempts of the president of the Republican Party of Armenia to inspire his own corrupt team and clients with political optimism, we believe Mr. Sargsyan said his last words in politics in 2018 (quote): “Nikol Pashinyan was right, I was wrong” (end of quote).”
