YEREVAN. – National Assembly of Armenia former MP Abraham Manukyan was arrested Saturday by the decision of Judge Karen Farkhoyan of the Shengavit district court of the Yerevan court of general jurisdiction. His lawyer Hrant Ananyan informed Armenian News-NEWS.am about this.

"Given his track-record and life story, the judge was unable to withstand," the lawyer added.

Manukyan is accused of assisting in vote buying.

To note, opposition Prosperous Armenia Party  leader, head of its parliamentary faction, and business tycoon Gagik Tsarukyan is also an accused in the same criminal case, but the court of first instance had denied the motion to arrest him as a pretrial measure.
