The United Arab Emirates has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening international cooperation and to its humanitarian approach, providing assistance to over 1,000,000 healthcare workers in the form of over 1,000 tons of personal protective equipment, medical supplies and food assistance to several countries to which COVID-19 has spread.

Commenting on this achievement, Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy stated the following: “Since its establishment, the UAE aspires to strengthen cooperation and solidarity with other countries and finds that all countries need to set aside their differences and achieve solidarity, and the provision of assistance to over 1,000,000 healthcare workers affirms the government’s commitment to extending a helping hand, regardless of religion, race or ideology.”

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the UAE has been among the leading countries that have been promoting global humanitarian efforts to suspend the spread of viruses and is considered the largest supplier of assistance in the fight against the virus in the region.
