The appeals under the case of Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan in the Criminal Court of Appeal of Armenia have been inscribed to Judge Mkhitar Papoyan. This is what Tsarukyan’s attorney Emin Khachatryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The Criminal Court of Appeal will examine two appeals, including the appeal of the Prosecutor General’s Office against the first instance court’s decision to not arrest Gagik Tsarukyan and the appeal of Tsarukyan’s defense attorneys in regard to the fact that the minimum threshold of substantiated suspicion in the charge has not been overcome.

On June 21, Judge Robert Papoyan of the first instance court denied the motion to arrest Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan.

Tsarukyan is charged with obstructing the will of voters through electoral fraud, but doesn’t accept the charge and views the case against him as unlawful.
