A fatal hit-and-run took place Wednesday in Aragatsotn Province of Armenia.

At around 4am, a car hit pedestrian Edgar Petrosyan, 39—a resident of Ohanavan village—on the Margara-Vanadzor motorway, and the driver fled the scene, shamshyan.com reported.

The victim was taken to Ashtarak town hospital where, however, he died an hour later, and without regaining consciousness.

Police found out the identity of the driver, and the operative groups went to the suspect's residence. The driver is Kolya Hayrapetyan, 29, also a resident of Ohanavan village.

In the morning, Hayrapetyan went to the Ashtarak police station and informed that he was the driver of that car.

He was taken from the Ashtarak Police Department to the Aragatsotn Regional Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
