Due to the rise in the number of coronavirus cases, Kazakhstan is declaring a two-week lockdown starting from July 5th with possible extension, reports the government’s press service.

Kazakhstan will discontinue transport of buses in-between regions and restrict the hours of public transportation. The country will also maintain international air communication, but won’t be adding to the list of countries.

There will also be a ban on massive, family and commemorative events and a restriction on the movement of citizens on streets (no more than three people and the movement of people over 65. People won’t be able to go to beauty salons, barber shops, gyms, fitness centers, swimming pools, closed markets, beaches, water parks, cultural institutions, entertainment centers, kindergartens, religious institutions, etc.
