On Thursday evening, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian had a telephone conversation with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

President Sarkissian congratulated his Belarusian counterpart on the occasion of the country's national holiday, Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus, being celebrated on July 3.

The President of Armenia highly assessed the developing cooperation and effective cooperation between the two countries.

The two presidents exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation and implementation of joint programs.

The President of Armenia expressed his gratitude to Alexander Lukashenko for his assistance in providing a plot of land for the construction of an Armenian church in Minsk.

President Sarkissian particularly noted: "I am confident that the Armenian-Belarusian multilateral cooperation will continue to develop successfully (…) from now on, too."
